A very big weekend, for a very little man

Another weekend has come and gone too quickly! We had a pretty busy one this weekend though, lots of visiting with family and friends. On Saturday, Joshua and I ventured down to Salem to visit Great Grammy Nikki and Great Grampy Brian, who we don't get to see nearly enough. Joshua was in a bit of a funk while we were there for some reason but he snapped out of it once he was back in the car. After that we headed off to Haverhill to visit Heather and meet her new baby, Odin. It was crazy to see Joshua and Odin next to each other! Odin is the first person I know with a baby younger than Joshua. I am excited for when they both get older and can run around together and play!

Saturday night Joshua decided he wanted to pretend to be a newborn again, perhaps he was inspired by Odin, so I got a 2am wake up call... which is always nice...

And then on to Sunday! Sunday, of course, was Father's day, Jay's first. Joshua and I got up early and made Jay breakfast in bed. That is what my parents and all of us kids did on Mother's/Father's days, so i figured I'd carry on the tradition. Who doesn't like breakfast in bed, really?!

We had taken pictured in the mall at Picture People, which I think I wrote about in a earlier blog? So Jay got one of those pictures in a nice frame and a mug that says "DAD"... Because every Dad needs a special Dad mug, right?! After we were all up and at'em, we scrambled around getting ready to head over to Grandpa Eddie's house for a Father's Day BBQ. People weren't kidding when they said everything takes twice as long (at least) with a baby! I feel like every time I am packing, even for a day trip, I need to have a list of things to not forget, and half the time i end up forgetting things anyways! Joshua started off the trip by not sleep at all on the car ride over! He wasn't fussing, but I was pretty sure we were in for it later on. Once we got there it was time for him to eat, so he did, and we tried making him lay down for a nap, since he hadn't had one and he wanted nothing to do with it! Eventually Jay's Aunt Suzie held him and he slept in her arms for a bit. It was a pretty hot and humid day, so we decided it was time to attempt the swimming pool again. This time Jay went in with him though. He was surprisingly OK with it for the most part. He stuck Joshua's toes in and all was well, walked him in to the top of his legs . . . still good, then tried to put him in his baby floaty seat . . . bad idea. So we took him out of that and Jay held him in the water some more. They have a float that looks like a lounge chair, so Jay decided it would be funny to prop him up in that (which it was). Joshua was alright with that. As you can see below... and while we was lounging there, looking like he was beckoning a waitress, everyone kept saying "he looks like he should be holding a beer" soooo.... we gave him one haha (don't judge us) it wasn't open (obviously) But look how cute he looks! Besides, he will probably think we were the coolest parents ever when he sees this picture some day (when he is of age of course!)
Don't judge us... you know it's funny...

All warm and snuggly after the pool!

All the generations of Dads.

Think that's about all that happened this weekend of note. Joshua is sleeping now so I think it is time for me to do the same! Good night my friends!
